A language taught long before it became an app

Aurelux did not begin as a software project but in a classroom. The explanations you find in the app are the ones Aurélie has been giving her students for years: first understand why the language works the way it does, only then memorise it. That is what explains the unusual amount of room given to grammar in a learning app, where most stop at vocabulary.

The two activities — teaching and building — feed each other. The sticking points that come up in class become chapters of the Academy; the questions that come back most often become lessons in the app.

What she has built

The apps

Aurelux, Wuertschatz, LuxQuiz: the lessons, the vocabulary and the puzzles are written and recorded by Aurélie, not licensed from an existing catalogue.

The Academy

The twelve chapters of Module 1 follow, on video, the same progression she uses in class: the N rule, genders, regular verbs.

Beyond the language

Aurélie is also the author of La petite poésie d’Aurélie, a collection of poems written in Luxembourg about love, grief, hope and faith.
